A new species of Aeschynomenoxylon, A. malwaensis, has been described from the Deccan Intertrappean beds exposed near Barawaha in Madhya Pradesh. This is an additional evidence for the occurrence of fossiliferous Intertrappean beds in the Middle Traps which are usually considered to be poor in fossil content.
