Abstract

The paper deals with a few impressions of leaves, fruits and seeds belonging to 5 families, 10 genera and 11 species collected from the Khari Series (Aida Stage- Lower Miocene) of Kachchh. They have been described here as Murraya khariensis sp. nov. of Rutaceae, Millettiaa symmetrica sp. nov., M. miocenica sp. nov., Bauhinia kachchhensis sp. nov., Cassia miokachchhensis sp. nov., Leguminocarpon khariensis sp. nov., Leguminophyllum khariensis sp. nov. and Leguminosites khariensis sp. nov. of Leguminosae, Cinnamomum miokachchhensis sp. nov. of Lauraceae, Ficus khariensis sp. nov. of Moraceae and Palmacites khariensis sp. nov. of Palmae. The assemblage suggests moist to dry deciduous vegetation in this area.
