Abstract

Two fossil woods resembling those of Bischofia and Antiaris belonging to the family Bischofiaceae and Moraceae, respectively, are described from the Namsang beds near Deomali, Arunachal Pradesh. A critical assessment of the structural details of the fossil woods referred earlier to as Bischofia has revealed that they are quite different from that of Bischofia.
