Abstract

The potentiality of Toona sp. trees, Meliaceae native in Asia and Australia continents, for dendrochronological studies are described, including its silviculture, ecology and wood anatomy. Emphasis is given to the presence of distinct annual growth rings sensitive to climatic variations and detectable by wood cross-section analysis and X-ray densitometry technique.
