A new saccate pollen genus Divarisaccus is described from the Barren Measures stage of the Lower Gondwana sediments of the Jharia coalfield, Bihar, India. The pollen grains referred to this genus are characterized by proximally apparently subequatorial and distal bilateral saccus attachment. The genus is compared with Virkkipollenites Lele, Plicatipollenites Lele, Barakarites Bharadwaj & Tiwari and Crucisaccites Lele & Maithy.
