Abstract

19 bore hole coal samples representing the coal horizons in TaJcher coalfield have been sporologically studied. The mioflora includes 39 genera and their quantitative distribution among these samples have distinguished two palynological assemblages 'A' and 'B'. Assemblage-A is characterized by the dominance of Brevitriletes, Microbaculispora, Faunipollenites and Sulcatisporites whereas Assemblage-B has an abundance of Cyclogranisporites. The two assemblages correspond to the two main coal seams in Talcher coalfield.
